Several years ago, I took a trip to Australia and had many good memories. From then on, I decided that one day I would migrate there. Here are several reasons for why I made the decision. One of the reasons is that the weather there is always cool or cold which is my favorite weather. Besides, people there are so friendly that I need not worry that I would be edged out. Moreover, I was elected to be the owner of Great Barrier Reef which made me have no need to worry about the costly charges there. The most important of all is that there are varieties of food such as Chinese local food so I will not suffer from foodsick. Now, I have already packed my luggage and I will fly to Australia tomorrow.

In our daily life, we must listen to many songs. Among these songs, the lyrics in them may be interesting, funny, touching and so on. To me, the song called “Happy Birthday” does really mean a lot to me even though it’s a common song and there are just four words in it. Every time I hear this song, I always feel pleased because it symbols my friends’ and my relatives’ love and consideration for me. Also, it makes me realize that I have grown up one year old and I will face new challenges and changes. Moreover, I know I should be more mature and responsible for myself. I think the song may be important not only to me, but also to everyone in the world.

Every time I see my scar on my leg, I cannot but tremble. The scar was made in a windy night. That night, my mom cooked in the kitchen as usual and then my family had dinner with pleasure. We talked a lot about our future and shared our dreams. ”Ding-dong!” ”Ding-dong!” Our bell rang and my father went to open the door. About five minutes later, my mom and I felt confused because we didn’t hear any voice after my father went to open the door. Then we went to the door to see who had come. What we saw there was three thieves and my father having already passed out. Mom was so afraid that she screamed stridently. This way caused one of the thieves to notice us, and soon we were captured by him with a gun. The thief asked my mom to give him one million dollars at once or he would kill we family, and then he had my mom take out the money. As soon as my mom went to take the money, she secretly called the police. However, what she did was found by a fat thief and he was so nervous and angry that he took out his gun and shot to my mom. Immediately I ran to my mom and blocked the bullet. Luckily, the police came at once and arrested the three thieves. However,the gunshot wound left a scar on my leg; sometimes, it still causes me to feel irritated . I think I would never forget that terrible night in my life.

Acton is a small town which is a quiet, safe and clean place to live in the Midwest. Last month, however, Stanley Manufacturing decided to open a large factory in this town. I think it will lead to lots of negative effects. First of all, it will produce much pollution which will make the residents’ health get from bad to worse. Besides, it will raise the crime rate if many people are going to move to the community, and therefore the town will no longer be secure.  Then the town will no longer be secure. Although it will bring lots of jobs, I think the dwellers can establish some tourist spots to make the economic growth. Judging from these negative effects, I am opposed to opening a factory in Acton.

Global warming has been more and more serious over the past few years. In fact, it has become such an important issue that we can’t ignore it any more. There are a number of consequences of global warming. First of all, with the temperature increasing, many crops will not grow so lots of people and animals will have no food to eat. It will surely lead to species extinction. Besides, the warming atmosphere may give rise to changes in the amount and pattern of precipitation, which will lead to great climate changes. Also, the glaciers retreating will cause the sea level to rise. It will make all creatures have no places to live. Most important of all, it will also induce much damage, which will make the earth get from bad to worse. With more and more droughts and melting glaciers, I think it is time for us to commit ourselves to earth prevention.

One of my friend, Michael Williams, had just closed his music shop. Here are several reasons why I think his business failed. First, the location of his shop is so far from the town that I think no one was willing to go to such a remote place only to buy a CD. Besides, most of the CDs there were hip-hop and rock. However, most people who live near there are around fifty to sixty years old. I think he should buy other categories of CDs such as world music and classical music because the middle-aged people prefer to listen to light music rather than electronic music. Moreover, the time his shop opened was very short and it missed the bustling time. Not only was the location of the shop far away from the place people live, but the business hours were few. Due to the two reasons, I consider that no one would find his shop except for frequent customers and neighbors. Last but not the least, he would not accept checks and cards. It would surely cause a serious problem for purchasers. Now, I'm going to tell him about my opinion on his business failure and discuss some solutions.

I'm looking for a new English instructor for my school, and I received two resumes from two people applying for the job. There are some reasons for why I would hire Lynn Whitnall for the job. First of all, although Debra has more education than Lynn, Lynn still had been an English Instructor. Because of this, I think Lynn must be good at English and have enough sense about the job. Besides, Lynn had been a volunteer but Debra hadn't. I think a person who had been a volunteer is more willing to help others. I consider it is what an instructor needs to do. Most important of all, Lynn is fluent in Spanish, French and Japanese. However, Debra is only fluent in French. An instructor who can speak more than one language can introduce to more people. For the reasons above, I'd like to hire Lynn Whitnall instead of Debra.

When I was in Ilan last week, I ate at two restaurants which were similar. I had lunch at RORO Italiana and dinner at OROR Café. First of all, both of the pastas at RORO and OROR were so delicious that I even ordered two pieces. Also, the atmosphere at OROR Café was really comfortable, and so was RORO. Furthermore, the environment in OROR was as tidy, clean and quiet as RORO. The servers at OROR were attentive. Likewise, the servers at RORO were attentive .I can’t wait to introduce my friends the tasty food at the two restaurants.
